What's been going on

So, I really feel the need to update the blog, I just haven't felt
there was anything substancial enough to share. I guess I will just
fill you in on what's been going on the last couple weeks, and what we
have coming up.

I went to little rock to visit. I went by myself during the week,
because I felt like I hadn't been in awhile, and I knew I wouldn't be
making a trip anytime soon. I wanted to see mom and gather the rest of
my stuff now that I have a place to put it. We had a good time. I got
in late Sunday night, and stayed until Tuesday afternoon. We did a
little shopping, and went to this new restaurant called YaYas. It was
very tasty! She was a little busy with work, working with a new client
trying to find them a house. It was a good time, and I'm glad I made
the trip.

Work has been pretty normal for me. Just trying to make it through
summer. Its hard to make up my mind on how I feel about off season.
It's slow, and the time really can drag and be boring, but on the
other hand it's nice to have a break before season starts up. Fathers
day weekend was good, but It's too dang hot here, and no one wants to
shop at an outdoor mall!

Bill has been a busy bee at work. Lots of training, and going out on
cleaning jobs. He is out of the office a lot more inspecting buildings
and meeting with clients. They are still working out a big kink with a
bank issue. It's sorta confusing, but say a little prayer if you think
about it, because it's pretty big deal and it's causing a lot if
stress and frustration for bill and my dad.

Another small setback this past week. My mom fell down some stairs
while showing a house and busted her head open. She had to get staples
in her head and sat in the ER for a good part of the day getting x
rays and an MRI. She's got a lot of bumps and bruises and a chipped
elbow. She is fine, just real sore. For anyone who knows my mother,
you know stairs are not her best friend. We told her we are getting
her a helmet and a life alert necklace. Luckily she has a good sense
of humor!

Lucy update: she is getting so big! Well not that big, she's
definitely still a puppy, but not that little furball anymore. She's
so funny. She loves fetch, and she gets herself all worked up and just
runs in circles! It cracks me up! She isn't so scared of everything
now, and it's much easier to take her on walks. I love her, she is so
adorable!

That's really all that's been going on. Now we are just gearing up for
our trip to destin. I'm soooo excited! We are going with bills parents
and sister. We will meet them down there on the 4th and stay until the
11th! I love the beach, and this will be bill and I's first real
vacation together, other than the honeymoon. Bill and his dad are
bringing their motorcycles and have some rides put together. They get
to do that while the girls lay at the beach and go shopping! I'm sure
I'll have tons of pictures to share.

My birthday is on Sunday. I love my birthday! :) I think were just
gonna have a day at the pool. Should be fun! I haven't been to the
pool yet this summer, it's calling my name.

That's it! Hopefully I didn't bore you too bad. Just didn't want to
neglect the blog any longer. Peace!

if it wasn't for texas

so, my job provides a lot of perks, as i'm sure you all have figured out by now. tickets to cowboys games, tours of the new stadium, luncheons with jerry, holiday parties with players, and so on. another perk has been the opportunity to tickets for events at the new stadium before they go on sale to the general public. so, way back in january, we purchased tickets the the inagural event for the new cowboys stadium. the one. the only. king of country. george strait.

this past saturday, the day finally arrived. i woke up early, not b/c of excitement, but because the lawn people decided to come at 8:30! i immediately switched on the computer and set my itunes to the george strait 50 greatest hits playlist and had myself a mini concert. got myself ready and actually wore the first outfit i put on. of course i wore my boots, and unfortunately none of my pictures capture the whole outfit. ok, so finally we're on our way. we stop at cantina laredo for lunch, where our waiter asked if we were coming from a party. i guess 4 people in cowboy boots, and cowboys hats aren't ordinary around here. last i checked i lived in texas and thought that was normal...oh well.

we finally arrive at cowboys stadium. chaos. people everywhere. lines for food. line for drinks. holy moly! it looks completely different from when i visited just a couple weeks before. this place is amazing. its so beautiful inside. you don't feel like you're at a stadium, but more like a hotel. couches to lounge on in the concession area. bar height tables to eat at. sweet potato fries for purchase. bars in every corner. its amazing needless to say. if you are in dallas, its worth going to take a tour.

ok, so the concert. lee ann womack opened the show, because jullian hough was sick. girl, you better have been really sick to not show up to this gig. but, whatever. lee ann was way better anyways, i actually know songs she sings. then came blake shelton. not a big fan, but he was good. they both performed about 30 minutes. our seats were right below where jerrys suite is. so we could see him and his guests the entire time. the crowd lit up when jimmy johnson showed up in his suite. they looked like they liked each other. could this mean jerry and jimmy are friends again? prob. not. troy aikman was also there, and i heard jason witten was, as well as bill bates. then reba sang. i'm really not much of a reba fan either. she tries to make her music so inspirational, which is fine, but still not my fav. she was very good though. and her finale was the best. she sang fancy, and put a bright red dress on. that was really the only song i was looking forward to. finally george! looking handsome as ever! after a couple of songs, he started leading the chant, "jerry open the roof!" so they opened the roof or the first time ever! it was so cool. he sang for 2 hours. it was awesome. we were so tired when we left. we were there a total of 8 hours! well worth it though.

ok, so i know this post is getting long but i have to share my scary story. so sunday morning after the concert at around 4 am, our house alarm started going off. now, our house alarm could wake the dead, literally! a previous owner of the home was either paranoid, or something happend to freak him out because he had all this crazy alarm stuff installed, like lasers and reflectors, and 2, not one, but 2 horns on the outside of the house. i shot up out of bed and ran to turn the alarm off, not even thinking about the fact that someone could be breaking in. so after the initial shock wore off, i started freaking out that someone tried to break in. bill, on the other hand, didn't even wake up!!! i woke him up, and he was confused, so i had to be mean and like push him out of bed to go search the house. of course, i couldn't go back to sleep after all this. i was too worried someone had tried to get in. i had all the lights on in the house and out. i'm still scared, so when bill had to go do an initial clean at 10:30 last night, i went with him because i didn't want to stay by myself. its like being age 7-13 again. scared of everything, and scared to be by myself. oh dear. needless to say, i'm thankful for the deafining alarm, and we will be purchasing the blinds for the back windows very soon!

so, those are my stories for the week so far. the rest of the week probably wont be as eventful. here are some pics from the concert.

P.S. my new favorite thing... cookies and cream milkshake from chik-fil-a. so not good for you, but soooo tasty!
